What is Mobile App Monetization?

Mobile app monetization refers to the process of converting app users into a revenue stream for a publisher. The most recognizable way of doing this would be requiring a purchase of the app from an app store to gain the ability to download it. Although, this is not the best option as fewer and fewer people are willing to purchase apps. That meant publishers needed to find a new and better way to monetize their apps.

The result has been mobile app monetization, where ads are bid on and displayed within an app, or purchases are made in-app. It depends on the publisher and their app to know what strategy would work best, as some types of apps are more suited for certain types of monetization strategies.
